Our Mandate & Responsibilities

The Ministry is responsible for supervising and coordinating the activities of all Local Government Councils and overseeing matters relating to traditional institutions across Yobe State.

Local Government Oversight

Monitoring and supporting the effective administration of the 17 Local Government Areas to ensure service delivery, transparency, and accountability at the grassroots level.

Chieftaincy Affairs

Regulating and coordinating traditional institutions, including matters relating to appointments, recognition, and welfare of traditional rulers.

Community Development

Promoting policies and programs that strengthen grassroots development, enhance community participation, and foster peace and unity across the State.
