The Ministry operates under the laws of Yobe State Government and relevant provisions of the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria governing Local Government Administration and Traditional Institutions. It provides policy guidance, oversight, and administrative support to all 17 Local Government Areas within the State.
The Ministry is headed by the Honourable Commissioner and supported by the Permanent Secretary, Directors, and Administrative Departments responsible for Local Government Administration, Chieftaincy Affairs, Finance & Accounts, and Planning & Research.
The Ministry remains committed to strengthening governance at the grassroots and preserving the cultural heritage of Yobe State.
